What will happen at a visit with a Dietitian?
The Dietitian will begin with a complete nutrition assessment, including review of past medical history, medication and supplement use, lifestyle habits and current and past dietary intake. From there, the client and the Dietitian will set goals and determine the best nutrition care plan to help you to achieve your goals.
From there, your dietitian will give you resources specific to you and your goals and speak to you on how you can integrate these recommendations into your life.
Common resources include meal plans, grocery shopping lists, lists of foods to eat more of and foods to limit, recipes and more.
The initial visit will be approximately 1 hour and the follow-up visits will be either 25 or 45 minutes.
Are the costs covered by my health benefits?
Some or all cost of some or all of the services provided by the registered dietitian may be covered by extended health benefits. Please check individual providers prior to initial visit and be sure to ask whether you will need a physician referral in order to be covered. We do not require a referral for you to see us.
